So yesterday was pretty awesome. I met up with Micha & Jenna and since she’s from England that’s already a win for the meeting up with online friends in my challenge list. We went to Antwerp to have some delicious Japanese food at Wagamama’s. I’ve been there before but I’ve tried something new for the list as well, with a yummy outcome. So that’s a 2nd win and 11 new things to taste still! We also went to this ridiculously huge comic store (honestly I could spend the whole day in there) and a quick art store visit. After that we took the train (which was in it’s turn ridiculously packed) to Brugge, since Jenna wanted to see it by nighttime. She also gave me some great tips and examples on art equipment with her mad skills, so I will do my best to use this new knowledge in future drawings. Honestly it was very helpful and I appreciate it a lot, so big thanks once more! Actually, all of you should check out her stuff so here’s her Tumblr & her Deviantart, go check it out! Yes I’m promoting your work Jenna, deal with it B)
Anyways, as you can see in the picture above, once in Brugge we went to this Disney ice sculpture festival that was there for a limited time, -6°celcius THATS FRIGGIN COLD IN THERE OK! But totally worth it, which is one of the reasons I’m blogging today in the first place. There’s no way I could not show some of these pictures. There’s a bunch more but I can’t possibly upload them all here I’m afraid. Instead I did make a small selection and added them to the photography section so go check them out (after you finish this post). They even had a small castle decor with a long slide which was the best. We went down it twice because it was just so much fun, I don’t even care that I’m 24 or that my ass was freezing, I felt like a kid again. Well I feel like a kid a lot, but this time I felt like a really young kid! After the cold I had a good tasty warm Cecemel to warm up again. There was also a polar bear standing next to a mic, don’t even ask. At first I though he would give a speech, but he just kept shaking his head so I assumed he had stagefright or something.
After that we just went to explore Brugge by night and while I’ve been there before that was only during the day. I was surprised about how lovely Brugge looks at night with all those Christmas decorations still up. I took a bunch of pictures there as well, but same deal with the ice sculpture photographs so you’ll have to do with a small selection as well. I do hope it inspires people to come to Belgium and visit Brugge, it’s definitely worth it, as are many other cities over here. As the evening ended Micha & Jenna were so friendly to entertain me with dancing and what not until my train left back home. That’s how you know you got good company. The running after my train may have been a little too much though Micha, but seriously guys, I love both of you and I had a great time, don’t forget it!
I really like how that picture came out so I’m ending todays post with that =). I’ll see you lovely people back on Sunday with my first weekly update of my challenge list!
Well folks, it’s the last day of 2011 so you know what that means! Here’s an overview of the good and bad from this year, in no particular order. Also for the people who’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll notice the place suddenly got a lot more colorful. It’s not final yet but I’m on a tight schedule today so I’ll be making some small changes to the layout in the following week still. Hope you like the brighter look, if it’s too much, please do let me know.

IN CONCLUSION & THANKS
2011 for me was somewhat of a breakthrough. I was working for 5 years in the same place and I just felt I was going nowhere with it. I finally made up my mind and took a risk to try something else, and it has done me wonders. A lot of great stuff happened, and very little things that can be considered terribly bad happened (with the exception of nr. 3) so I consider myself very lucky.
I also want to thank Dorothy for being such a wonderful girlfriend. You’re caring, sweet, cute, silly, funny, beautiful and you’re always there for me. If it wasn’t for you I’d still feel lost and I wouldn’t be the person I am today. You’re one of the most important people in my life and I’m a lucky guy to have a girl like you love me. Thank you for all the happy moments and memories we’ve shared together, and I can’t wait to make more in 2012. And never forget, I love you very much! ❤
Lastly, I want to say extra thanks to all my online friends in particular. I know I say this every year, but that’s because I mean it and want to make sure you guys never forget or doubt me. No matter how far you live from me, no matter how little we sometimes speak, you guys will always be friends in my heart and mind, and will always be welcome for a visit if you can make it over here. Since I no longer have a job it’s not as easy to make it over like previous years, but count on it that I will do the best I can, if even for a short visit. You guys/girls are an important part of my life too, and you’re all partly responsible for the person I am today as well, and I’m truly & honestly gratefull for that.
Here’s to 2012, and in case the world really would end, we might as well make the best out of it right?!
PS: I’ve also decided to activate my formspring account again for 2012, so feel free to go and ask questions there!
As promised (who would have guessed?!) I’ve updated every single page on the blog. The about page now features a lovely picture of yours truly, and a few links to other places you can find me. I’ve added some artwork as well, but only a few pieces as you’ll be able to find my work at my deviantart, which you can find a link for on the about page. Lastly I’ve made a small selection of photographs I’ve taken over the last few years during holidays, trips and memorable moments. More will be added as I go along with the blog.
Besides that I’ve been working on a list for 2012, but that wont be for, well, 2012, but just letting you know I’m (hard) at work to make this blog more active in the future. The last day or 2 have been (to no surprise) lazy, as I’m just enjoying my Christmas presents. I’ve been playing a lot of Mario Kart 7 which I’m really loving, some of the tracks are incredibly fun, especially the new rainbow road, so much love! I’ve also finished my first volume of “Y, the last man” which has me aching for the other volumes now. Now I’m about to start reading The Hobbit, which will undoubtedly be an interesting read, plus I wanted to read it before the movie comes out. Reading in general wont be a problem for some time considering all the books I’ve gotten, so happy!
Since I hate leaving a post without a picture, have this oldie .gif I was reminded of recently. It’s me when I visited some friends in Ireland. Yes, I drive pillows in my free time, you have a problem with that?
I’ll see you guys Thursday as we roll into the final days of 2011!
I honestly do. Not just because of the presents, but I really enjoy the typical Christmas moments with family, that nostalgic feeling that you hope will never disappear. I love the lights, I love the music (to a limit), I love the food, I love getting and giving presents, I love the cheesy Christmas movies, I love the typical moments and jokes that keep coming back every year, and I’d love the snow, if we would have gotten any, but sadly no white Christmas this year. This year I spend Christmas with Doro’s family, and pretty much ended up celebrating it all over again the next day with my family as well. Both evenings were the best and I enjoyed every second of them, I’m a sucker for these family moments, can’t help it. I don’t know how much more food my stomach can handle, but everything was so delicious and there’s still leftovers oh God!
Delicious homemade cupcakes by my older brothers girlfriend
So yes this blog might be new this year, but every year I end up talking about these holidays and post a pic of all the presents I got with a thanks. Thank you Steven, Dylan & Jessica, for adding many hours of reading joy with the books, and many viewing hours with the dvd’s. I absolutely love the pixar calendar as well. Thank you mom & dad, for Mario Kart, because Mario Kart is f*cking awesome, that’s why! Also you guys are pretty awesome parents. Thank you Megan, for all the sweets in that beautiful stocking and those awesome hats! Thank you Sharpy, for the Batman comic which will be a great read, and all the little Zelda stuff that I absolutely love. And most of all, thank you Dorothy, not just for the beautiful illustrated Hobbit book, or the cupcake kit which will deliver us many delicious and lovely cooking moments, or that little massage thingy that feels like heaven, but also because you’re one amazing, sweet, funny, cute, caring and loving girlfriend. You already know it, but I really do love you to bits ❤
This years ridiculously huge haul
That said, I hope each and everyone of you had a lovely Christmas or whatever holiday it is you celebrate. Me and Dorothy wish you all the best these holidays, and hope you enjoy these last few days of 2011!
These are such busy times! I really do want to update more but I haven’t had much time today, and obviously this weekend will be spend with family. Christmas evening with my girlfriend and her family, Christmas day my own family. So yes, I wanted to post more about several things, but I’ll just have to leave you with my Christmas tree for now. I’ll likely update this Sunday again about the weekend events and presents, oh boy, I know it’s not about the presents, but I sure do like them! I also want to update the blog in general with a bit more info and other places you can find me, as well as my artwork and some photographs before the year is over. After that I think I’ll post a “look back” at this year with the usual good and bad and then after that it’s resolutions time as usual. I have a lot planned, bet on it!
Hope each and everyone of you enjoys the holidays, and keep on loving!
Over here Halloween isn’t nearly as big as it is in America, so don’t be shocked to hear that yesterday was the first time in my life I carved a pumpkin. Same goes for my lovely girl, so we decided to no longer be pumpkin virgins and dove in. After a lot of mess and surprisingly no cuts in fingers, here’s the result.
It will become clear very quickly to whoever follows my blog that I’m a huge Zelda fan. As in, really huge, you’ll see, trust me. I hope you guys like the result, I think we did pretty good for our first try and we’ll definitely try again next year.
Happy Halloween! =)
So let’s make one thing clear: I drink way too much Fanta. I couldn’t go a day without Fanta. I have a collection of empty cans of the kinds of Fanta I’ve drank (Picture below). There used to be Fanta China but I never kept a can sadly. That stuff was so good too. I miss it, they should totally bring it back… but anyways, I digress. Simply said: I love Fanta. Or do I? Well actually, that’s what the old me would be saying. Do I suddenly hate Fanta? Not at all, it’s my best soda based friend! However, I’ve come to terms that all I really drink is Fanta or other sugary stuff, and I should cut down a bit.
So for the last week I’ve been drinking a lot more water, and only one glass of Fanta a day. Surprisingly, it’s going rather well. I don’t even crave any sugary drinks (of course it’s only been a week, can’t say much yet). Drinking nothing but water however, was a bit too much of a drastic change for me. So, I decided to give coffee another try. I wasn’t expecting much as I’ve tried coffee several times before, when I was a bit younger, and I always thought it tasted awful. Now all I can say is… black with sugar please! Oh and sometimes a tiny bit of milk depending how strong the coffee is. I’m Sorry to disappoint my friend Fearn, she’s a tealover and I’m afraid I’ve sided with the enemy.
Besides that I figured I might as well start to exercise a bit more, and actually eat at least 1 piece of fruit a day. So for now I’m just doing some basic exercises like lifting small weights, pumping and make use of our hometrainer. It’s not much, but I’m keeping track of how I’m doing so if things start to get too easy I’ll be putting the bar a bit higher everytime. As for fruit… well apples and banana’s aren’t too bad.
PS: Cans from left to right: Fanta America, Fanta Africa, Fanta Agrum, Fanta Cherry, Fanta regular, Fanta Zero, Fanta Blue, Fanta Lemon, Fanta Apple, Fanta Beach.
Last weekend was our annual carnival, and as every year it always ends with a bang. Well, a lot of bangs really. Most people usually think “it’s just fireworks, big deal”. For me, and my brothers however, its become somewhat of a tradition. We’re dragging our girlfriends in it as well now, weather they like it or not. There hasn’t been a single year we haven’t gone to see those fireworks, and while it never looks much different than last years, we really enjoy it. It’s not as much about the fireworks as it’s about the moment itself, the feeling I get when standing there. It might sound silly but it brings back memories and makes me look back at the previous years and all the things that have changed. I suppose you could call it my personal New Years.
After the fireworks we always go and get some Smoutebollen (picture above). They really are delicious. Usually they’re sprinkled with sugar which makes them even more tasty. If you’ve never had any I recommend you do. If you don’t know where to find them (I honestly have no idea how Belgian these things are), then come on over here and visit any festival/carnival, they’re sure to have them. As for actually going to the carnival itself, I’m not a huge fan of it anymore. Of course I was always excited when I was still a kid, but now I only take a walk there for nostalgic reasons. There’s better places and things to spend your money on. Still, I can’t help loving it.
As always, I look forward to next years fireworks.
For now, let me quickly introduce myself. I’m Jindrich, 24 years old and from Belgium. I love art and that’s why I’m currently following Graphics and Webdesign.
And that’s all you really need to know for now. You’ll find out lots more about who I am & what I love as I update, which is exactly the purpose of this blog if you’re wondering. I plan to do regular updates (still working out what days will fit me best) about my art, my interests and my life in general. The things that make me, well, me. I hope to keep this up and expand my inspiration and motivation as I go, and maybe learn some stuff along the way. I love to share things that I enjoy, so I hope you’ll like them just as much as I do.
That’s all for now. See you soon!
